Industrial Futuristic Typeface
Karbonis typeface is inspired by my love of video gaming and the Wipeout Racing Series from my childhood on the Playstation 2. My fascination with the videogame and its feel and design style many years later and led me to create a number of racing livery designs based on teams from the game in Forza Motorsport.
Following these ideas it was time to create my own team and technical drawing of my personal racing craft. The resulting spacecraft design forms the main poster where the original illustration contained a custom logotype in just my initials. This was used as part of the initial font sketches to expand the font into a full useable set of characters.
Built in 2 weights "Karbonis Type One", is the solid version and "Karbonis Type Two" a cut out/modern eroded version. Both fonts have Uppercase, Lowercase, Numerals and a selected number of special characters and alternates.
